Gems Group has always been about the people who make everything possible. We believe that the employees that represent Gems should be acknowledged. Today, we want to take a moment to talk about one of our Gems’ family members, Belqui, who has made the transition into a certified floral designer has truly made her Cinderella Story come true.
Belqui has been a part of Gems for over 7 years, and she doesn’t show interest in leaving anytime soon. Born in Bucaramanga, Colombia, she spent most of her life there. She decided to move to the United States to continue to practice her faith. Having found a job at a local Winn-Dixie, she soon learned more about the American culture.
A few years later
Belqui eventually found a position in Gems working as a hospitality assistant; Helping maintain the cleanliness of our Gems home, making visitors and group members feel welcomed. Staying organized, disciplined, and expressing a great attitude; A few of the characteristics that we look for at gems. As time went on, Belqui started expressing more appreciation for Gems, the people in it, and its purpose. She states that the gems team is like family to her. She helps prepare food, set up meeting rooms, and keeps home campus looking warm and inviting. Our favorite thing that she does is make Cafecito for everyone during later times of the day, keeping us awake and hard at work.
Recently, Belqui noticed an opportunity made available to grow within gems. She took the initiative to become a floral designer for Gems and has created several stunningly beautiful arrangements for our Gems family. She strives to grow further within Gems, one day hoping to design and arrange floral conferences and marketing shows. We are especially proud that she has gained citizenship in the United States, a huge achievement. She says a huge part of her success in passing was due to the gems group help and support. We are so proud of Belqui’s work, and we are excited to see what she does in the future. That’s why she is a true Cinderella Story!
